Me comunique con algunos colegas del extranjero para conocer sus ideas y opiniones respecto a lo que pasa en Perú. Solo quedo en conclusión que debemos afrontar nuestras debilidades en el campo de la farmacia comunitaria con el servicio directo a la Comunidad, ya tantas veces conversada en las reuniones. Sin embargo tengo las normas de estados unidos y le envío el comentario interesante de la Dra Linda Strand a quien le pregunte si el Consejo de Farmacia de Minnesota podría mandar alguna Carta al Congreso o algún respaldo (es la Dra que definió el Pharmaceutical Care junto a Hepler en los 90).

We regulate pharmacy at the state level (no national organization).  There is a law that they can not engage in any political activity in or out of the country so they will not do that - it is supposed to be a non political organization.  I think this is evidence of what we have learned here in the United States.  Dispensing drugs is a retail, commercial business that does not have to be done by a pharmacist - the only unique contribution we make is to provide pharmaceutical care to patients.  It is unfortunate that we have not realized that yet.  I hope you are able to get what you want and I am sorry that we are not of more help.  I think you are seeing the direction pharmacy is going all over the world - if we don't take care of patients we will lose everything.  We have known that for a long time - we just have not done anything about it.  Let me know if I can be of help on the patient care side of the equation.  Good luck to you.
